We intended to make well-known and easily accessible to everyone, the nutritional treasure that the unique biodiversity of our place generously offers. The areas in which our bees are located at Asterousia Mountains (MARIDAKI) and Mount Dikti (SELAKANO) are protected by the pan-European NATURA 2000 network their unique environmental importance, which is due both to their geographical isolation and limited human presence.
The seaside coast at MARIDAKI and the virgin pine forest at SELAKANO create pure natural environmental conditions for the production of a high nutritional value treasure, the “MINOAN BEE” honey.
Especially in our region where many endemic herbs and virgin thyme thrive, honey’s features stand out. The special climate of our place creates the perfect conditions for the wild mountain flora to deliver premium quality honey with a unique aroma and taste.
It is used edible as a sweetener in tea, breakfast, fruit juices, and cooking. Directly on the skin as a healer of wounds and skin diseases.
